Prospects of Green Marketing in India

Abstract: The basic concept of Green marketing comprises in environment and environment problems. This has been highlighted in the phenomenon of Global Warming. All activities/actions which are initiated with the objectives to facilitate any exchange to satisfy the human needs or wants ensuring least detrimental input on the natural environment are covered by the Green Marketing.Natural resources are limited and human wants are ever increasing therefore while using natural resources one has to take every precaution that there is no depletion of the natural resources. Human beings are duty bound to ensure that the natural resources are preserved for our successors. Therefore, the manufacturers and service providers should take care to see that their products and services do ensure that they are sustainable and that socially responsible. In this paper the author has brought out the objectives of green marketing, characters and special features of the green marketing products. It has also discussed the awareness of the masses about the green marketing. Opportunities available in green marketing in India have also been discussed in this paper. Of late it has been observed that gradually the awareness has come in the Indian consumers and that they do prefer green marketing products and services. As a result of this awareness there is a good demand for the green marketing products and services in India. In times to come it will further grow. There are bright prospects for green marketing in India.
