Relationships among Self-Efficacy, Physical Activity and Information Demographic In Elderly of Tabriz

Abstract: Self-efficacy is a person’s belief in his or her ability to succeed in a particular situation. This study investigated the relationship between self-efficacy, physical activity and various demographic characteristics such as age, gender, income, health and educational level. Therefore, 195 elderly voluntarily completed a battery of questionnaires including self-efficacy questionnaire (Sherer and Maddux, 1982), Physical Activity Scale for Elderly (PASE) and demographic characteristics. Data were analyzed with Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression. The results showed that 41.5 percent of the variance in scores of general self-efficacy is predicted by independent variables. Level of education, income and physical activity positively and healthy variable negatively predicted self-efficacy capability. The results showed that the increase in physical activity, high educational level, high income and public health status of person could predict self-efficacy. In order to ways of change the behavior must be organize and implement these factors for be considered change the life style
