Abstract: The present study aimed at determining the effects of religiosity on sport for all promotion in East Azerbaijan, Iran, which was conducted according to longitudinal method using questionnaires as the tool. In line with this issue, such categories as tendency towards sport for all(in three dimensions, namely, cognitive, emotional and behavioral), and religiosity(in five dimensions, including belief, emotion, cognition, rites and consequences) were investigated. Samples were selected using multistage cluster sampling. Sample volume was determined according to the population of each city of the province and variance of the depended variable for each of the cities which amounted 1271 cumulatively. The results revealed that the mean of tendency towards sport for all was 58.8 with the standard deviation (SD) of 14.9, the mean of emotional dimension was71.4 with the SD of 11.4 and behavioral dimension of tendency towards sport for all was 36.4 with the SD of 34.1.Thus, based on the statistic of the means of tendency towards sport for all and its dimensions, it was observed that the lowest mean amongst the dimensions was for behavior and the highest amount belonged to cognitive dimension. The mean for religiosity was 69.9 with the SD of 9.5, the mean for belief was 93.3 with the SD of 10.6, the emotional dimension mean was 77.62 with the SD of 11.5, the cognitive dimension mean of religiosity was 41.4 with the SD of 16.3, the mean of dimension for rites was 62.3 with the SD of 17.5, and the outcome dimension mean was69.5 with the SD of 8.7. Therefore, regarding the statistic means of religiosity dimensions, the lowest mean was for cognitive and the highest amount of means was for the dimension of belief. According to the correlation coefficient of 0.18, there was a direct and significant relationship between tendency towards sport for all and religiosity at the significance level of 99%. There was also a direct and significant relationship between tendency towards sport for all and emotional, ritual, cognitive and outcome dimensions of religiosity at significance level of 99%.Considering correlation coefficients of tendency towards sport for all and dimensions of religiosity, the highest coefficient was for the correlationbetween tendency towards sport and cognitive dimension of religiosity. As for correlation coefficient of 0.15 and its significance level, it could also be concluded that there was a direct and significance relationship between emotional dimension of tendency towards sport for all and religiosity at significance level of 99%.
