Investigating the relationship between transformational leadership and improvement of competitive advantage; (Case study: MCI company compared with MTN company)

Abstract: The surrounding environment of organizations has become more dynamic than before; therefore, it is essential to move towards development in order to achieve success. Transformational leadership is considered as one of the leadership paradigms to promote the performance of organizations in the currently disturbed environments through encouraging the employees and developing an organizational culture in which moral procedures are known as behavioral norms to predict environmental changes. The purpose of the present study is to examine the effect of transformational leadership on improving the competitive advantage of companies such as mobile operator companies of Mobile Telecommunication Company of Iran (MCI) and Irancell. Questionnaires were used as the main tool of data collection in this study. The statistical population was composed of managers and customers from the mentioned companies including a sample size of 171; but to make the sample size sufficient, 250 questionnaires were collected through simple random sampling. The overall reliability coefficient of the questionnaire was 0.884 indicating the reliability of the research instrument. The structural equation modeling method and the AMOS Graphic software were employed to analyze the data. As well, the significance of factor loadings was examined after conducting the factor analysis for each latent variable. The research hypotheses were tested through overall confirmatory factor analysis to evaluate the relationships between latent variables. The results of the research showed a significant and positive relationship between the transformational leadership and the improvement of competitive advantage
